In a bright room filled with laughter, conversation, and determination, members of the Tanzania Prisoners Hope Foundation (TPHF) came together for a powerful training session aimed at strengthening leadership and advocacy skills.
This gathering brought together passionate individuals — many of whom have lived experience with incarceration — to share ideas, learn from one another, and develop strategies to amplify the voices of former prisoners across Tanzania.
Over the course of the workshop, participants engaged in group discussions, identified challenges, and mapped out actionable solutions to support rehabilitation, reintegration, and policy change. The pink sticky notes that lined the wall weren’t just paper — they were bold visions for a more just and inclusive society.
Speaking at the session, TPHF leaders encouraged participants to take these skills back to their communities, form support groups, and continue building a national network for advocacy and empowerment.
“When we stand together, we are unstoppable,” said one participant.
This event marks another milestone in TPHF’s mission to restore dignity, opportunity, and hope to prisoners and ex-prisoners — showing that real change begins when people unite for a shared purpose.
